Teen Choice Awards 2014: A K GO GO LOWDOWN

Missed me my sass-to-class readers?

I know I know, I’ve committed a serious violation of not putting up blog posts. I’ve been advised to slow down  and not burn out.

Teen Choice Awards 2014. Can’t believe that they still give out those  surf board trophies! The last time I watched this awards was years ago.

The Awards ceremony ‘krunked it up’ with new categories that cater to the world of social media, web and reality television. In addition to new categories of new emerging  artists that will become MEGA among the Teen audiences.

In the music field,  One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer came out on top! The UK hearthrobs were the champions on the night. One Direction took home Choice Love Song for their single “You & I”, Choice Break-Up Song: “Story of My Life”, Choice Music Group, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Summer Tour, Choice Social Media King, Choice Twit and Choice Fanatics, thanks to their #Directioners. Harry Styles won for the  group again  as he took home Choice Smile. Indeed his smile can make any teenage girl’s heart melt. *Sigh*

New kids of the block 5 Seconds of Summer are clearly following big brother 1D, as they took two surfboard after winning double in Choice Summer and Music Breakout Group.

In the world of film it was all about “The Hunger Games”, “Divergent”, “Fault In Our Stars”, and “22 Jump Street”  as actors  Theo James, Jennifer Lawerence,  Josh Hutcherson, Shailene Woodley, Angel Elgort, Nat Wolff, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum took home surfboards! Rock on guys. 😎 😎 😎

Iggy Azalea’s continues to dominate. ‘# She’s so fancy. I’m just letting you know. She’s in the fast lane, from LA to Toyko…#

The hottest song of the Summer “Fancy” with Charli XCX got Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song. Iggy also won Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist and her colloboration with (hottest girl right now) Ariana Grande earned the sweet-popshell Choice Single Female Artist. If that wasn’t enough, Ariana Grande won Choice Female Artist.

In the world of reality television, it was “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” that was Choice Reality Show.  Followed by “The Voice”; with Shakira and Adam Levine winning Choice Reality TV Personalities. Meanwhile in television television,  shows such as “Austin & Ally”, “Pretty Little Liars”, “Teen Wolf” and “Vampire Diaries” were the preferred choices among the audience.

Zendaya is becoming an emerging Style Icon and took home the Candie  Style  icon  Award. Fashion/Beauty blogger Zoe Sugg was top teen choice for fashion and Troye Sivan & Tyler Oakley’s  “Boyfriend” Tag was the best Web Collaboration. However, despite these wins, many social media nominees  got robbed and felt that the whole show is a ‘rip-off’.

With all of the main highlights,  let’s go into the next section of nothing more nor less than the celebrity fashion style. Unlike others I’m not here to make money  by bashing people. That’s just not me. I’ll give my unprofessional-unlicensed-non-expertise opinion with some questions to think about. As manyof you know by now — in the world of K GO GO, I’ll create humour honey (snap for the kids, snap for the kids).

It was all about the coordinates. With  some good looking abs on show. Starting with Taylor Swift, who showed the young  ladies the classy way of styling it to a predominant Teen event. Teen Choice Awards 2014 fashion: It's the attack of the midriffs

The touch of class to the most S/S 14 wanted trend continued with actress Shay Mitchell. We can agree  that these  are the type of classy coordinate looks that many ladies can wear on a hot summer date.

Like the fashion saying  goes: ‘Everybody knows how to dress, but not everyone knows how to style.’

Can I  get an Amen at me? :D.

Jordin Sparks also sported the trend, but with tropical  florals.

Ariana Grande channels in her emerging sexy 60s siren look. If you look closely, you could see her bracelet. I believe  belongs to Kabbalah…I think.

Zedaya breaks the mould with her unforgettable pink dress, with a sexy back on show. This girl fails to disappoint and as a teenager herself, she sported some pop colour for this event. She’s definitely setting her path for her fashion future.

With other celebrities, many of the girls were sporting their healthy tonned pins. Lea Michele, Chloe Mortez and Cher Llyod are just the few who showed their envious legs.

Despite Cher Llyod giving the UK the B.Y.E, you can’t deny that she’s having MASSIVE success and exposure in the States. Plus, many teens look up to her for style inspiration.

Well er, you know British Fashion is the best. London has always enjoyed the field as an art of individual expression. Rather than commercial gain.

Many bloggers and mainstream media have placed the Kardashian/Jenner clan as the worse dressed.

With one  of the most successful mult-millionaire families on reality television, many were expecting them, especially Kendall and Kylie Jenner to move heads as they did at Canada’s Much Awards and the Billboards.

I didn’t even realise how really short Kim is!

Image: http://www.popsugar.com

Expectations were very high for Kendall, who’s become another supermodel in the making. Take it or leave it  Kendall haters, this is happening. After dropping it big into high fashion with Givenchy and Teen Vogue, you would have expected something high-fashion style from the 18-year old. Besides, THIS IS A TEEN EVENT and many teen fashion followers are taking cues about her style alone. Would she have sported something more of a flourescent bright colour as in a sky blue, purple or green that would have got her noticed? With a strong pair of stilettos that would’ve brought that “ba la boom” into the room? For some reason, many would view this look as too casual.

Kylie Jenner’s outfit is fine. Unlike her sister, she has a more darker/rocky edge. By the way Kylie, the skirt is fabolous.

Selena Gomez was the other celebrity, who decided to go all casual, sporting a tailored all black suit. I wonder if she was rushing to this event and if she already made plans not to attend. Flourescent brights or maybe floral suit blazer with trousers would’ve added a fun spark to her style. For goodness sake Gomez you’re young. So why turn up as if you’re being interviewed?

What happened to your amazing style you wore in the past two years?

Oh well, I assume that this is one of her mishaps.

The Giver” Actress Odeya Rush looks too formal for this event. Many would say that her Moschino dress would’ve been appropiate for A++ list ceremonies such as the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, Academy Awards etc. Instead of Moschino, maybe try the Moschino Cheap and Chic line.

There are many playful, youthful and bright pieces that fit perfectly well for the occasion.

If it’s true that the winners list is ‘rigged’ then the true winners are the ones who got told 6 days ago that they won.

No award ceremony without the drama eh?
