Music Monday: MIC Lowry — The New Hearthrobs <3 <3 <3

Take a deep breath…

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! 😀 😀 😀

In my weird funny mind, it’s a release mechanism for you #1D fans who are ‘crying a river’ about the One Direction ‘drug/joint’ scandal. Forget about our sadness of JLS’ split (congrats to JB way). What we need now is a new group. Yeah yeah yeah, I’m aware likes of The Vamps and Jankoskians, what we need is a group that can make ladies say ‘oooowwwwwwww‘, a group that have the potential to follow into the same success as JLS.

Ladies, get to know Mic Lowry meh.

Their names are Ben Sharples, Kaine Ofoeme, Akia Jones, Delleile Ankrah and Michael Welch. Many of you recognised them from the MTV’s Brand New 2013 Unsigned list as well as seen them performing at underground gigs, shows, music events etc. I’ve spoken about these guys last year in my post entitled ‘I’m Going To Miss These Guys (JLS)’. Since then, I’m hooked. #FYI they’re really good. Especially in an new era when everything has been auto tuned #suckthenewautotunes. Watching their performance at ILUVLIVE with their edit of ‘Thinking About You’ from Frank Ocean and their single ‘Restart’ I was like…wow, they’re the ish to your playlist.

Despite the erosion of the urban ‘stuff’ (i.e. R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz) being  manufactured into craft that is  popularized and whitewashed, these ‘fynnne’; brothers from’ Liverpool’ (accent) are still inspired by the R&B acts from the 90s as well as the classic legends. From US’ Boyz II Men, Aayliah, Usher to the UK’s deceased JLS (hey let’s be real, they’re the most successful band with five #1s). Man, never heard acoustic accapella sound so good since…

After seeing the comments, there’s huge support for them to go on X Factor. Will they be the next successors after JLS? Who knows? It’s still early days. So have a soft spot for these teens ladies (they’re still growing gradually into men, which may take a few years). In regards to auditioning for  X Factor, that’s a tough one. It’s debatable as to whether reality entertainment television has made the music industry commercialized; in the sense that people have become so reliant on these shows as a way to get a record deal, rather than the ‘word hard, hustle hard’ mentality. Make no mistake folks, these shows are making the craft of ‘musmoi’  (music) very monopolistic.

Even though they didn’t win the Capital Summertime Ball, they’re already winners. Even though they’re teenagers, their vocals depicts them as mature men beyond their years. Despite them being unknown by the mainstream public, they’re and will become amazing jewels and heartthrobs for every woman and girl everywhere.

Music is all about passion, flair, SWAG and strive. For MIC Lowry, regardless of the pop competition, have a unique vibe that’ll separate them from the rest.

So ladies, I can guarantee you that you’re in for a treat. You won’t regret an inch. TRUST.
