It’s every fashion blogger’s dream to get to London Fashion Week (LFW). However, with the British Fashion Council (BFC) acknowledging the rise of bloggers becoming the influence of the public, they’ve decided to shake up the accreditation in terms of a bloggers’ standpoint. The information is available on their site but if you can’t be bothered with the ‘professional info’ then let me break it down.
ONLY INFLUENTIAL BLOGGERS WILL ATTEND LFW
Apologies peeps, but they’ll no longer be doing on-site blogger accreditation. Instead, they’ll only be accepting bloggers that have evidence of their large online outreach, engagement and influence. Plus, they must show that they support British designers.
ON A GOOD SIDE, THEY’RE INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF BLOGGERS ATTENDING LFW
That’s great isn’t it? Although the final list of blogger accreditation will be sent to PRs. So if you don’t get awarded this season there’s no need to worry, as accreditation will happen on a seasonal basis.
BLOGGERS WILL RECEIVE A BRIEFING PACK ONCE REGISTERED
Like I’ve said previously, even if you don’t get awarded accreditation. If you register to the British Fashion Council site. You’ll receive information as to how to still engage with the event, as well as access to an online blogger hub where imagery and related media will be accessible to you. The pack will also feature other events that are happening throughout the year.
Accreditation bloggers will receive information about the benefits of their accreditation, code of conduct (i.e. rules) and information about onsite facilities and events.
London Fashion Week is being sponsored by Samsung. There will be 10 laptops available to use. Charging stations and lockers will be available on the first floor of Somerset House (no need to worry about a dead battery then).
So those are the changes. If you don’t get the lucky ticket, don’t stress use this time to create your blog interesting, different, amazing etc. One day you’ll get awarded to attend the biggest show on the fashion radar. Also, check out my previous post No Frow? The Get Your Fashion Passion On With These Other Events. There’s other off-schedule events happening that you could attend.
