MTV Video Music Awards 2013: The Nominees

Roll up, roll up ladies and gents; the MTV Video Music Awards 2013 is upon us and this year, the nominations list is very interesting.

Surprisingly, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z and Beyonce have all taken the back seat, allowing Macklemore and Justin Timberlake to lead the way with six nominations each. Miley Cyrus has three nominations including Best Editing for her controversial ‘black wannabe ghetto’ video ‘We Can’t Stop’ (trust me, that video and her doing the twerking caused a concern among ALOT of Black people). She competes against the likes of Demi Lavato, Rihanna & Taylor Swift for Best Female Video and Selena Gomez Best Pop Video…I predict that she would at least win one.

Robin Thicke’s explicit video (too much butt-naked women) has been nominated for 3 categories: Video Of The Year, Best Male Video and Best Collaboration. So he’s having the last laugh.

Sadly, there are a few British competitors but on the bright side, Australian native Iggy Azalea is nominated for the Ones to Watch category. I see her being a HUGE competitor to Nicki Minaj globally.

Apart from that, here’s the full nominations list below:
